We want reviews on Makeship product pages to be honest, helpful, and from real customers. Here is how reviews are collected and what to know if you don't see your review appear.
Where reviews come from
Currently, reviews on our product pages are collected through Shop App and Judge.me. Reviews displayed may originate from either service. Each service applies its own processes for verifying purchases and moderating reviews before they are made available for display. Makeship may also apply the review criteria described below.
What the reviews show
Reviews are displayed in a widget on all Makeship product pages. The reviews and overall rating relate to Makeship products generally and are not limited to the product on the page you are viewing.
At any given time, the widget displays the 100 most recently submitted eligible written reviews across all Makeship products, ordered by rating (descending). Each review identifies the product to which it relates by displaying the product’s name and catalogue image. To help visitors identify which product each review refers to, each review includes a photo of the item reviewed.
The overall rating and accompanying review count are calculated using all eligible, published verified-buyer ratings across Makeship products and are not limited to the 100 written reviews currently displayed.
We only display reviews from verified buyers. These are customers who purchased and have received the product they're reviewing. This helps ensure the reviews you see reflect real experiences with the product.
We don't hide reviews for being negative
Critical or negative feedback is a normal and valuable part of reviews, and we do not remove or suppress a review simply because it's unfavorable. Our moderation is about the content and legitimacy of a review, not the star rating or sentiment.
Why a review might not appear
A review may not be displayed for reasons including:
- It's an older review — The review widget displays only the 100 most recent reviews across all Makeship products at any given time; as new reviews are submitted, older reviews may no longer be displayed. This rotation reflects the widget's display capacity and is not a moderation action.
- It isn't from a verified buyer
- It includes photos or videos — at this time, reviews containing photos or videos will not be displayed
- It appears to be spam — promotional content, ads, unrelated links, or irrelevant submissions
- It contains inappropriate language or content — including offensive, hateful, or harassing language
- It includes personal or identifying information — such as email addresses, phone numbers, or payment details
- It appears fake, duplicated, or manipulated
- It raises legal concerns — content that we reasonably believe is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or cannot lawfully be published
- It's from someone with an undisclosed conflict of interest — such as an employee, agent or competitor
- It contains false or misleading claims — content that we reasonably determine, based on available information, is clearly false or misleading
- It isn't currently available in a supported language
- It’s not a product review — Our widget only displays product reviews. Reviews on the store/shopping experience are not shown.
These criteria are applied consistently and without regard to a review’s star rating or whether it is positive or negative. Makeship may withhold a review on other substantially similar legal, safety, integrity or technical grounds. We may update these criteria from time to time.

Makeship does not solicit reviews from employees, and does not currently offer discounts, giveaways or other incentives in exchange for reviews.
